The Cannery – Newport Beach

The Cannery restaurant is located at Lido Peninsula, the center of Newport Beach’s commercial fishing area. The restaurant’s name comes from its location, which was originally where the Western Canners Company canned and packed fresh local catch.

The company’s building had been earmarked for demolition in 1999 when Jack Sproul, a local from the area, purchased it to preserve the area’s heritage. So yes, there’s a little bit of history to this unique brunch restaurant! Besides the history, the Cannery serves the freshest seafood in the area made using certified Angus beef and wild, line-caught fish.

Brunch options at The Cannery include Crème Brulee French Toast, Maine Lobster Benedict, Kamayan, Crystal Maple Fried Chicken served with Waffles, and the Lady Larkin Burger. The Cannery’s Bloody Mary is also unique since it is made with a quarter-pound of shrimp and house-made bacon.

The Cannery offers bottomless seltzer or champagne with every entrée purchase, too, which is sure to keep you and your friends in a cheerful mood while you eat. For a little extra fun, their Dock and Dine service involve brunch deliveries to your boat docked outside the restaurant.

The Hangout – Seal Beach
